The USR has officially announced that it is no longer supporting Elena Lasconi for the presidency, but Nicușor Dan

On Wednesday, USR announced that it will support an independent candidate in the presidential elections, following a board meeting where the decision was adopted by an overwhelming majority, with only two votes against. The USR leadership held a meeting last night to discuss the party's most recent poll, in which Elena Lasconi was in fifth place in the polls, with an extremely poor score.

According to the USR leader, Nicușor Dan is the only candidate among those who support Romania's pro-European course who has a chance of reaching the second round.
