The Romanian state intends to take full control of the National Company Bucharest Airports (CNAB), which manages Otopeni Airport and Băneasa Airport. The Ministry of Transport, the majority shareholder with 80% of the shares, has proposed to buy back the 20% stake held by the Property Fund, which was not consulted regarding this intention. If the proposal is approved, the state will become the sole shareholder of CNAB, valued at approximately 5 billion lei. The company reported operational revenues of 1.3 billion lei and a net profit of 609 million lei.
Additionally, CNAB has major infrastructure projects planned, including the construction of a new terminal at Henri Coandă Airport and the modernization of Runway No. 1, with investments estimated at hundreds of millions of euros. Furthermore, the company's listing on the Bucharest Stock Exchange has been blocked, and the Property Fund has emphasized that failing to meet the listing objective could lead to delays and additional costs.
