The BNR reports an increase in the non-performing loan rate to 2.81% in June 2025, compared to 2.53% in March 2025.

At the end of June 2025, the non-performing loan rate in Romania rose to 2.81%, compared to 2.53% in March 2025 and 2.49% in June 2024. The National Bank of Romania has centralized data for 31 credit institutions, of which ten are branches of foreign banks. Their total assets reached 894 billion lei, an increase of 7 billion lei compared to March 2025 and 59.4 billion lei more than the same period of the previous year.
