The government has set a transition period for RO e-Invoice until June 1, 2026, providing taxable individuals with an adjustment period.

The Romanian government has decided to introduce a transition period for the implementation of the RO e-Invoice system, setting the deadline for June 1, 2026. This measure targets taxable individuals who carry out economic activities and are identified for tax purposes by their personal identification number (CNP), who will not be required to use the system until that date. This postponement will allow them to adapt and test the functionality of the platform, having equal treatment with individual farmers, who already benefit from the same postponement.

Additionally, the legislative changes adopted through the normative act aim to simplify and reduce bureaucracy in the tax registration of secondary establishments with at least one person earning wages or income similar to wages.
