Bogdan Ivan, the Minister of Energy, announced in Parliament Romania's priorities for accessing the Modernization Fund, a major source of funding for the national energy system. Romania has access to up to 10 billion euros from European funds, intended for the modernization of energy transport and distribution networks, the construction of wind and solar parks, as well as the implementation of energy efficiency projects in various sectors. Ivan emphasizes the importance of including investments in baseload electricity production, such as hydropower plants and nuclear power plants, to ensure cheap energy in the long term. He also proposes that Romania become a regional leader in the energy transition through concrete investments, not just through theory.
