Bogdan Ivan, PSD deputy, asked interim Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan and Minister of Investments, Dragoș Pîslaru, to request the activation of the European energy security mechanism. Ivan emphasized that, given the energy crisis, it is essential for Romania to benefit from additional energy supplies.
He mentioned that no formal request has been sent to the European Commission, which represents a significant severity. Ivan proposed maintaining a group from the Oltenia Energy Complex in technical reserve and reactivating another to inject energy into the grid. He also warned that Romania may have to import energy at very high prices in the coming weeks, already having offers for rate increases of 25-30%. Ivan highlighted the need for rapid action from the Government to avoid additional risks in electricity supply.
