Fuel prices have risen sharply, and experts warn this will lead to a new explosion in prices at the pump.

The wave of price hikes shows no sign of stopping and repeated increases in excise duties have led to a significant rise in fuel prices. In Bucharest, a liter of standard gasoline sells for between 7.35 and 7.49 lei, while a liter of standard diesel costs between 7.44 and 7.57 lei. Romania still has some of the lowest fuel prices in the EU.
