During the debate "Upgrade Romania: Life After PNRR", the general mayor Ciprian Ciucu stated that, at the level of the European Funds Directorate, it has been found that two-thirds of European projects will be decommitted, which means significant losses, including 158 million lei from PNRR. The affected projects include investments in energy renovation, traffic lights, and smart transport.

Ciucu emphasized that, in Sector 6 of Bucharest, where he was previously mayor, there were no decommitments and he managed to attract European funds. He mentioned that the losses are caused by signing contracts without publication in the Official Journal of the European Union and called for responsibility from the officials.

The mayor held meetings with representatives of banks to identify alternative funding for infrastructure projects in Bucharest, hoping to recover funds from PNRR for the traffic management project. He also highlighted the deficiencies in the governance of the Capital and emphasized the importance of PNRR funds for the City Hall budget.
