The Minister of Finance, Alexandru Nazare, announced that investments in Romania increased last year by approximately 16%, reaching the sum of 138 billion lei, which represents 7.2% of GDP. This growth is significant, as the budget deficit has decreased, demonstrating that investments no longer justify a large deficit. The composition of these investments has changed, with an increased contribution from European funds, from 58% to 78%, while national funds have decreased. Nazare emphasized the importance of payments for unpaid projects from April, mentioning that ANAF had additional collections that contributed to this situation. Additionally, the payment mechanism for co-financing projects with European funds has been made more flexible, which has had a positive impact on areas such as Transport and Agriculture.
