The interim Minister of Finance, Alexandru Nazare, stated that Romania has secured 49% of the planned funding for the year 2026, emphasizing that this reflects investors' confidence in the national economy. The official claims that the current pace of borrowing is in line with the strategy of the Ministry of Finance and that maintaining the rating grade is essential for the state to continue financing itself under favorable conditions.
"At this moment, the state's funding plan is achieved at a rate of 49%, exactly at the halfway point of the calendar year. This is a pace aligned with the strategy established by the Ministry of Finance, and thus, Romania has managed to get through the first part of the year, in a context of high volatility, without having to resort to pre-financing - as was done in previous years, when the state attracted larger amounts than the immediate need in the first part of the year, to protect itself in case of difficult periods in international financial markets. This year, the evolution of budget execution and the implementation of the funding plan have allowed for the maintenance of a balanced pace, without this additional measure. It is mandatory to maintain the rating grade, so that Romania's financing remains on a straight line," the minister wrote on his Facebook page on Friday.
