The Council of the European Union has urged Romania to implement key budgetary reforms to reduce the deficit and strengthen macroeconomic stability. The proposed measures include tightening budgetary policy, increasing defense spending and accelerating the absorption of EU funds. Romania must respect commitments on excessive deficit and improve the quality of public administration. It also calls for an accelerated transition to renewable energy and measures for the social inclusion of vulnerable groups.
