E-commerce accounted for 3.32% of Romania's GDP in 2024, with Greece leading the region, according to data from the Bulgarian eCommerce Association.

According to data from the Bulgarian eCommerce Association, Greece leads the Central and Eastern European region with a 7.87% share of e-commerce in GDP, while Romania stands at 3.32%, while the European average is 5%. Trends in the sector will be discussed at the Balkan eCommerce Summit, to be held in Sofia in April 2025. It will bring together top companies in the field as well as leaders from the FinTech industry.
