The GDP of the European Union was estimated at 18.8 trillion euros in 2025, while Romania's economy was estimated at 380 billion euros, representing 2% of the total GDP.

According to data published by Eurostat, the GDP of the European Union reached 18.8 trillion euros in 2025, with Germany having the largest economy, valued at 4,500 billion euros, which represents 23.8% of the total EU GDP. France and Italy follow with 15.8% and 12%, respectively.


Romania, with an estimated economy of approximately 380 billion euros, contributed 2% to the total GDP of the European Union. In the regional ranking, Poland had the largest share in the EU economy, at 4.9%, while Romania ranked above the Czech Republic (1.8%), Hungary (1.2%), Slovakia (0.7%), and Bulgaria (0.6%). At the lower end of the ranking, Malta had the smallest economy, representing only 0.1% of the total EU GDP.
