US Open | The women's final has been decided

Aryna Sabalenka and Elena Rybakina have qualified for the US Open final after winning their respective semifinals in New York. The two players, who are in excellent form, will meet on Saturday for the trophy at the year's final Grand Slam tournament.

The world No. 1 defeated American Jessica Pegula in two sets, 7-5, 6-2. After a closely contested first set, Sabalenka took control of the match and dominated the rallies. The Belarusian finished the match with 29 winners and seven aces.

The victory sends Sabalenka into her fourth consecutive US Open final and her eighth consecutive Grand Slam final on hard court, a remarkable achievement in the Open Era. Pegula, who had defeated her in Berlin this summer, acknowledged her opponent's superiority.

In the other semifinal, Elena Rybakina came back after losing the first set and defeated Coco Gauff 3-6, 6-4, 6-4. The American controlled the start of the match, but the player from Kazakhstan raised her level and decided the match in the third set, when she secured the break to make it 5-3.

The final will pit two of the strongest players on the tour against each other. Sabalenka is seeking another major title, while Rybakina will try to win the third Grand Slam trophy of her career.
