Auto parts maker Bosch is announcing the layoff of up to 1,100 employees by 2029 and the restructuring of its Reutlingen plant due to the rapid deterioration of the car market and falling sales. The plant, which employs about 10,000 people, will focus on semiconductor production as the manufacture of electronic control units is no longer competitive. Vice-president Dirk Kress emphasizes that the job cuts are necessary for the plant's future in a highly competitive market.
