The bill approved by the Spanish government prohibits smoking and vaping in stadiums, on bar terraces, or at bus stops, and also prohibits the sale of single-use electronic cigarettes and their use by minors. The aim is to protect public health and adapt legislation to new consumption trends. All tobacco products will be regulated similarly to conventional cigarettes, and advertising for them will be banned. The Minister of Health emphasized the negative impact of tobacco consumption on health, although the bill does not include proposals for generic packaging. Anti-smoking activists believe that the government should take additional measures to prevent smoking among young people.
