Mihai Chinez, aged 49, and his 24-year-old daughter, Denisa, died in a workplace accident on Monday at a precast concrete factory in Banagher, Ireland. The two Romanians worked in the casting section and were preparing a mold when the incident occurred.
The alarm was raised at around 11:40 a.m., and emergency crews and police officers were sent to the company premises. The doctors who arrived at the scene could do nothing for the victims, and they were pronounced dead at the scene.
Mihai and Denisa had worked for several years at the company specializing in concrete beams and structures. The family had lived in Banagher for a long time, where the two were known and appreciated by the community. Angela, Mihai’s wife and Denisa’s mother, is also employed at the same factory.
The exact cause of the accident has not been announced. Police and labor inspectors are investigating the circumstances of the tragedy, while investigators are examining the machinery and working conditions. The forensic findings and technical reports will be analyzed before any potential liability is established.
