16 counties in Romania are under a red heat warning on Sunday, June 28, due to extreme temperatures that will reach values between 35 and 40 degrees Celsius.

The thermal discomfort will be heightened, and the temperature-humidity index (THI) will exceed the critical threshold of 80 units. The night will be tropical, with minimums between 17 and 25 degrees.

Banat, Oltenia, and most of Muntenia and Moldova are under an orange warning, with maximum temperatures between 34 and 38 degrees. In the counties of Ialomița, Călărași, Tulcea, and Constanța, a yellow warning is issued, with maximums between 30 and 34 degrees.
