Traffic on the Friendship Bridge Giurgiu-Ruse will be alternately stopped on July 15 and 16.

The Giurgiu Territorial Inspectorate of the Border Police (ITPFG) announced that, on the mornings of July 15 and 16, 2026, traffic on the Friendship Bridge Giurgiu-Ruse will be alternately stopped in each direction, between 06:00 and 11:00, for the replacement of lighting fixtures on the Bulgarian side of the bridge.

Traffic will be directed from both sides, and each direction will be stopped for approximately one minute, if necessary. ITPFG will collaborate with the Romanian Police and the Border Police from Bulgaria to efficiently manage road traffic in the area. Additionally, the toll for crossing the bridge can be paid online, starting June 15, through the e-TarifGiurgiu.ro platform or the mobile application e-TarifGiurgiuPod.

The toll amount is 15 lei for the Romania - Bulgaria direction and 2 euros for the Ruse - Giurgiu direction, paid to the Bulgarian authorities. Access to the bridge is provided on eight lanes, with two dedicated to online payment for a fast flow.
