The woman from Sibiu arrested for killing her mother for inheritance has committed suicide in custody.

The woman, aged 38, accused of having killed her mother in 2024 to obtain her wealth, died in the custody of the Alba County Police Inspectorate after causing her own death with a razor blade.

The incident occurred on May 15, 2026, when police officers found her unconscious, and doctors confirmed her death. The woman was receiving psychological counseling due to her unpredictable behavior and had restrictions on contact with other detainees.

Following the investigations, the circumstances of the suicide will be established, and the inquiry will verify how the police monitored her.

The woman had been placed in preventive detention, along with a nurse, for qualified murder, after they premeditated and executed the death of her mother by administering sedative substances. After the death, she sold the inherited goods and moved to Dubai.
