A firefighter killed his 22-year-old girlfriend.

On Sunday evening, August 30, a 22-year-old woman was fatally attacked in Barticești, Botești commune, Neamț County. According to the investigation, the perpetrator of the crime is believed to be her boyfriend, a 24-year-old firefighter from ISU Neamț, who subsequently committed suicide.

The young woman was rushed to the hospital, but the doctors were unable to save her. Footage from surveillance cameras showed that the man got out of a car and attacked her with a knife.

After committing the act, the man fled and hid in a forest, where he hanged himself. Authorities confirmed that the man was an employee of ISU Neamț, without any prior disciplinary issues.

The investigations have been taken over by a prosecutor from the Prosecutor's Office attached to the Iași Military Tribunal to establish the exact circumstances of the tragedy.
