The Minister of Education, Daniel David, stated that Romania has obtained the approval of the European Commission to use European funds for the payment of the first teaching career bonus, which will start in January 2026. This bonus, worth 1,500 lei, can be used by teachers for professional training courses, books, and IT equipment, and part of the amount can cover individual teaching needs.


Additionally, the minister mentioned the intention to request permission to use the same funds to supplement student scholarships. Furthermore, he announced that payments for educational cards will begin in November for holders and in December for others.
