Over 36,000 students in disadvantaged situations will be eligible to receive social scholarships of 925 lei per month in the 2026–2027 academic year, through a project implemented by UEFISCDI and the Ministry of Education and Research. The support will be funded through European funds and the national budget.
The scholarships will be awarded in full, regardless of the number of days with teaching activities in the respective month. The authorities have not yet specified for how many months the payments will be made. The number of beneficiaries will be at least at the level recorded in the 2025–2026 academic year.
The selection will be organized by each university, and interested students must comply with the schedule and procedure established by the institution at which they are enrolled. This includes students who received support in the previous academic year, who will take part in a new selection process, with no automatic extension of the scholarship.
Students aged between 18 and 29, enrolled in undergraduate or master’s programs, in full-time study, on state-funded places, at public civilian universities included in the project may apply. Beneficiaries will also have access to webinars and workshops on time management, academic stress, and the development of learning skills.
