The Oil Terminal Union announced the start of the collective labor conflict beginning August 24, after negotiations for a 6.5% salary increase failed.
Union members accuse the Government of not approving the necessary memorandum for salary increases, which could affect the supply chain of petroleum products and the operation of refineries.
The decision to start the conflict was made after 50 days of delays and discussions with the Ministry of Energy and local authorities, without results.
CNS Cartel ALFA, which supports the union, criticizes the Government's refusal and warns that a five-day strike could cause losses of over 6.5 million lei. Union members emphasize that the damages could be much greater, affecting Romania's energy security.
Cartel ALFA calls for Government intervention to avoid escalating the conflict, emphasizing that the refusal to approve the salary increase will generate higher costs than those necessary to maintain the purchasing power of employees.
