The Ministry of Environment announced that in 2025 it spent 656,260.11 lei on plane tickets, a decrease of 20% compared to 2024, when the amount was 813,853.77 lei. The Ministry denounced the misinformation in the public space that associates these expenses with luxury and waste of public money, emphasizing that the information is taken without verification. The institution mentioned that the new framework agreement for the purchase of plane tickets has a value 12.3% lower than the previous one and includes clauses for low-cost ticket offers. The Ministry explained that purchases are made only for approved official trips and that Romania's participation in international meetings is an obligation assumed through treaties. It also emphasized that presenting these expenses as "exotic vacations" is a distortion of administrative reality.
