The head of the Prime Minister's Chancellery: The institution's expenses could decrease by over 48% this year

Mihai Jurca, the head of the Prime Minister's Chancellery, presented the situation of the institution's expenditures for the period 2024-2026, estimating a significant reduction in them. If the current pace is maintained, expenditures will be over 48% lower by the end of 2026 compared to 2024.

The budget execution was 42.09 million lei in 2024, and for 2025 a decrease to 32.13 million lei is estimated, which is 23.7% less. The largest savings are forecasted in the transport chapter, with a reduction of 87.6%, followed by protocol expenses, estimated to decrease by 52.2%, and salary expenses, by approximately 34%.

Jurca emphasizes the importance of a government with full powers for implementing the necessary reforms, but acknowledges the limitations of the Chancellery. Allowances for secondment and delegation have been reduced by over 76%, and expenses for translations have decreased by 83%. The Chancellery continues to provide administrative support for the Prime Minister's activities.
