The Ministry of Environment, Waters and Forests has denied the false information spread by AUR regarding the costs and the process of developing the National Strategy for Biodiversity Conservation 2026-2030. The funding was provided from the Environmental Fund, intended for environmental protection projects.

According to Emergency Ordinance no. 196/2005, the development of national strategic documents is a legal use of these funds. The Romanian government allocated 500,000 lei for this strategy, which cost only 373,600 lei excluding VAT, covering a complex study structured into eight activities. In comparison, AUR received over 27.5 million lei in subsidies in 2025. The Ministry coordinated the entire process, ensuring multidisciplinary expertise and consultations with specialists. The strategy underwent extensive evaluation and public consultation, being approved by the Government and adopted by Parliament.
