The interim Minister of Labor, Dragoș Pîslaru, stated on Thursday morning that he can "reconfirm" that the new proposal for the Salary Law will not decrease any salary and that over two-thirds of salaries will see increases.
Dragoș Pîslaru, the interim Minister of Labor, announced on Digi24 the completion of a new proposal for salary reform, following the dissatisfaction generated by the initial version from July.
Pîslaru made these statements just four hours before the meeting at the Cotroceni Palace where President Nicușor Dan convened the leaders of the former governing coalition regarding the final form of the Salary Law, which is set to be sent to Parliament for adoption in the extraordinary session next week.
According to him, at the Ministry of Justice salaries for the management area - CSM, Prosecutor's Office, High Court - have already been adjusted to respect the equality of powers in the state, including those imposed by the European Commission.
"So this issue is resolved," emphasized the Minister of Labor.
Pîslaru stated that the new project represents an "objective variant" between the demands of the unions and the budgetary constraints imposed by the country's economy.
"So, somehow, at this moment, we are technically or professionally prepared to show political leaders that any increase is populist, because it does not have a basis on which to be founded not only in front of the European Commission but also in front of how much Romania can afford to spend, and any lower value will obviously bring considerable dissatisfaction," said Pîslaru.
The Minister assured that the new variant respects the commitments made through the PNRR and that it will avoid the dissatisfaction of the unions.
