On Friday, the National Sanitary Veterinary and Food Safety Authority (ANSVSA) sent the European Commission an Action Plan to unblock sheep and goat exports from Romania. The document includes measures to control diseases affecting livestock herds and resume trade.

Among the proposals presented is the differentiated administration of 1.3 million free vaccine doses. One million doses would be used to immunize against Sheep and Goat Pox (VOC), while another 300,000 doses would be used to combat Peste des Petits Ruminants (PPR).

The plan seeks to meet the health requirements needed to lift restrictions and resume exports. The proposed measures target both the prevention of disease spread and the protection of sheep and goat herds. The next step is for the European Commission to analyze the document and assess the measures proposed by the Romanian authorities.
