The interim Minister of Labor, Dragoș Pîslaru, announced on Thursday evening that he has developed the Unified Salary Law respecting three essential principles: budgetary-fiscal sustainability, equity among public sector personnel, and a control mechanism to prevent deviations. Pîslaru presented the final form of the law to political parties at the Cotroceni Palace, emphasizing the importance of social acceptability and respecting Romania's fiscal reality. The adoption of the law by August 31 is crucial for retaining 770 million euros from the PNRR, necessary for investments.

"Today I presented to the political parties, at the Cotroceni Palace, the finalized technical form of the Unified Salary Law, the result of negotiations, consultations, and adjustments.

I pursued three essential principles, without compromise: budgetary-fiscal sustainability, real equity among all categories of public sector personnel — based on an independent technical assessment carried out together with the World Bank and a clear control mechanism to prevent past deviations.

I listened to and discussed with unions from all involved sectors, and every technical element on the table today is substantiated.

I explored all possible options to achieve social acceptability, respecting Romania's fiscal-budgetary reality.

The adoption of the law by August 31 means retaining approximately 770 million euros from the PNRR, essential for Romania's investments.

The role of the Ministry of Labor in this process, namely to ensure the technical secretariat, has been fulfilled.

We remain at the disposal of the parties for support until the final adoption of the project.

I put everything necessary on the table for an informed decision.

The responsibility for the final decision now lies with the political parties and Parliament," wrote the interim Minister of Labor, Dragoș Pîslaru, on Facebook on Thursday evening.
