Acting Minister of European Funds and Labor, Dragoș Pîslaru, stated on Tuesday evening that those responsible for the violence that occurred in Victory Square must face legal consequences. However, he maintains that the political instigators of the protest's escalation, including politicians from AUR and SOS, will not be held accountable.
Pîslaru also accused the politicians who tried to gain electoral capital from the demonstration. He criticized PSD leader Sorin Grindeanu, whom he says attacked Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan again, without mentioning that the Ministry of Agriculture has been led by PSD ministers for the past five years.
The acting minister maintains that Romanian farmers deserve solutions and a serious analysis of their demands, not merely political statements. At the same time, he says that the state must intervene when sanitary and veterinary rules are violated.
