The three-month ROBOR index rose on Wednesday to 5.94% per year, up from 5.76% in the previous meeting, according to the National Bank of Romania (BNR). At the beginning of 2025, ROBOR was at 5.92%. Additionally, the six-month index, used for mortgages with variable interest rates, increased to 5.96% per year, while the 12-month ROBOR rose to 6.02% per year, up from 5.92%.

In contrast, the reference index for consumer loans (IRCC), regulated by OUG 19/2019, is 5.68% per year, calculated as the average of daily interest rates from the third quarter of 2025. These increases in the ROBOR index will influence the cost of consumer and mortgage loans in lei.
