The NBR published the new exchange rates: the euro and the dollar fell, gold became cheaper, while the ROBOR indices remained unchanged

The National Bank of Romania published on Thursday, October 29, 2026, the new exchange rates and benchmark indicators for Romania’s financial market. The euro and the US dollar depreciated compared with the previous session, while the British pound rose slightly. The price of one gram of gold fell by more than 4 lei, while ROBOR rates remained unchanged.

The euro was quoted at 5.3449 lei, down by 0.0046 lei, while the US dollar reached 4.7943 lei, after a decrease of 0.0145 lei. The British pound rose to 6.3877 lei, while the Swiss franc fell to 5.7864 lei. The Hungarian forint and Polish zloty appreciated slightly against the leu.

One gram of gold was quoted at 620.9452 lei, 4.4798 lei below Wednesday’s level. However, the precious metal remains above its value at the beginning of the week.

Three-month ROBOR remained at 6.09%, six-month ROBOR at 6.15%, and 12-month ROBOR at 6.20%. The IRCC for the second quarter of 2026 is 5.57%, an indicator that may influence variable loan interest rates, depending on the contract and the timing of the update.
