The National Bank of Romania published on Friday, September 11, 2026, the new reference rates for the main currencies, set for Romania’s foreign exchange market. The euro, US dollar and pound sterling appreciated against the previous session, while the Swiss franc and Hungarian forint declined.
The euro was quoted at 5.2557 lei, up 0.0020 lei from Thursday’s rate of 5.2537 lei. The US dollar reached 4.5316 lei, rising by 0.0152 lei, while the pound sterling was quoted at 6.1216 lei after advancing by 0.0038 lei.
The Swiss franc fell to 5.5628 lei, down 0.0079 lei from the previous session. For 100 Hungarian forints, the NBR set a rate of 1.4426 lei, down 0.0023 lei.
Compared with September 4, the euro rose by 0.0033 lei, the dollar by 0.0117 lei, and the pound sterling by 0.0081 lei. Over the same period, the Swiss franc fell by 0.0204 lei, while the forint declined by 0.0038 lei. NBR quotations are reference rates and may differ from the rates charged by banks and exchange offices.
