The government has adopted an emergency ordinance to amend the Forestry Code, aiming at the restructuring of Romsilva and improving forest management.

Through the emergency ordinance, the Government modifies the Forestry Code to restructure the National Forest Administration - Romsilva, in accordance with the National Recovery and Resilience Plan. The number of forestry directorates is reduced from 41 to 12, with the aim of reducing bureaucracy and increasing efficiency. Management positions will be significantly reduced, and the estimated savings of 19 million lei will be invested in forest management. Performance criteria for forestry management are also introduced.
