The European Commission has decided to allocate nearly 50 million euros to farmers in Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, and Poland, affected by late frosts, hailstorms, and heavy rains that have destroyed crops. Romania will receive 11.5 million euros, and the aid is intended to provide financial support to farmers who have suffered losses. The Commissioner for Agriculture, Christophe Hansen, emphasized the importance of adapting to climate change and managing risks in the agricultural sector, mentioning the irrigation projects implemented to support farmers.
