Liviu Cocoș, the interim director of the Brașov Water Company, has been detained by the DNA on charges of influence peddling and bribery. Other members of the Board of Directors and employees of the company are also involved in the investigation. Cocoș allegedly promised undue benefits to an expert in order to be appointed as general director, offering in return public procurement contracts. The DNA conducted searches at the company's headquarters and at the homes of some politicians, targeting suspicions of corruption during the period 2024-2025.
