The Vice President of the Brașov County Council, Șerban Todorică Constantin, has been accused of abuse of office and placed under judicial control by the National Anti-Corruption Directorate (DNA). He is suspected of having manipulated the appointment procedure of two members in the Board of Administration of the "Apa Brașov" company to gain control over the company's resources.
Between March 20, 2024 – September 18, 2025, Todorică allegedly hired an expert to influence the selection of the company's general director, who was appointed illegally.
The investigation identified a damage of 65,561.5 lei, representing the director's compensation and the expert's fee. Following the accusations, Todorică has been subjected to restrictions, including a ban on holding public office and leaving the country without the prosecutors' approval. This investigation is related to another case in which the interim director of the company is accused of influence peddling.
