The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Oana Țoiu, announced that Lukoil gas stations will be able to operate legally until April 2026, according to License 128B issued by the USA (OFAC). This decision provides the necessary time to protect jobs and energy security, while maintaining the financial transfer bans to Russia.
Oana Țoiu emphasized that the Romanian Government has closely collaborated with OFAC to assess possible scenarios and has implemented measures to monitor the company's activities. She also assured employees that gas stations can continue to pay salaries and purchase stocks, and the sale of operations to other operators is permitted. However, the transfer of funds or profits to Russia remains prohibited and will be directly monitored by the authorities.
