The project, which was negatively approved by the Superior Council of Magistracy, provides for the establishment of the retirement age based on the standard age in the public pension system, with a minimum age of 49 years until 2026 and a minimum seniority of 35 years. Additionally, a phased approach to the retirement age will be introduced, reaching 65 years. The project establishes a pension amount of 55% of the average allowances from the last 60 months of activity, limiting the net pension to 70% of the net income from the last month.

Following discussions, the High Court of Cassation and Justice may decide to refer the matter again to the Constitutional Court regarding the reform of the law on magistrates' pensions.
