The Chamber of Deputies has adopted the draft law which provides for the extension of the limitation of the trade surplus on staple foods until the end of 2024.

The bill was adopted with the amendment tabled by the PSD, extending the term of the measure until December 31, 2024. PSD argues that the measure has stopped speculation in the market and helped stabilize food prices. The Senate was the first body to refer the matter to the Senate, and the vote in the Chamber was decisive.
