According to CNIR, pile tests are carried out by builders to verify the sizing of foundations, execution technology, and quality control of the works.
These tests take place in the Lăzarea area, Harghita County, where a complex passage of 702 meters will be built over the railway. The foundation piles are subjected to compression, being loaded with a predetermined weight of 6320 kN, equivalent to 650 tons of force. These reinforced concrete piles are essential for structures such as bridges and viaducts.
Alongside the pile tests, preparatory works are underway for the reinforcement cages, prefabricated beams, and land clearing. The project includes 18 bridges, passages, and 3 wildlife crossings for animal safety. Lot 1D Joseni-Ditrău, measuring 14.4 km, has an estimated cost of 911 million lei and is expected to be completed in 34 months.
