The National Road Infrastructure Management Company (CNAIR) has begun preparatory work to remedy damage on the A10 Sebeș–Turda motorway, between kilometres 66+300 and 66+500. The interventions are necessary after landslides and ground instability phenomena affected the motorway’s structure.
Based on the technical assessments carried out, the contractor will perform reinforcement works on the foundation soil and embankment. The plan includes installing a system of reinforced-concrete piles and grouted micropiles, restoring the earthworks, and rebuilding the motorway structure with granular material reinforced with geogrid.
The road structure and drainage and water-discharge systems will also be restored. The damaged road barrier will be replaced, and road markings and signs will be restored or supplemented.
CNAIR says the interventions are intended to stabilise the ground, reinforce the motorway, and eliminate the causes of the damage, thereby increasing traffic safety in the long term. The duration of the works will depend on the contractor’s mobilisation and weather conditions.
