DRDP Craiova intensifies work on Section 3 Cornetu-Tigveni of the A1 Sibiu-Pitești Motorway by producing and delivering the precast beams required for the structures

DRDP Craiova is stepping up work on Section 3, Cornetu–Tigveni, of the A1 Sibiu–Pitești Motorway by producing and delivering the prefabricated beams needed for the motorway’s future structures. The institution announced on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, that the elements are manufactured at facilities in Racovița, Vâlcea County, and Cepari, Argeș County, and then transported directly to the work areas.

Racovița is home to the D3 factory, where some of the large-scale structures are produced. The beams are loaded and dispatched along the factory–transport–construction site route, where they will be installed in the high-speed road infrastructure. According to DRDP Craiova, Racovița is one of the two integrated production and storage points for this section, the other being the facility in Cepari.

Each shipment contributes to the progress of the works and to the completion of the road connection between Cornetu and Tigveni. Meanwhile, work to secure the slopes continues on DN7, in the Olt Valley. The interventions include removing unstable rocks, installing protective nets and setting up retention barriers. Drivers are advised to proceed with caution and comply with the temporary road signage.
