Horațiu Cosma announces record mobilization on the Joseni-Ditrău section of the A8 Motorway

More than 300 people and 240 machines and pieces of equipment are currently working on Section 1D Joseni-Ditrău of the mountainous sector of the A8 Union Motorway, less than a month after work officially began. The announcement was made Wednesday by Horațiu Cosma, secretary of state at the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure.
According to the official, the Romanian contractor’s mobilization is considered a very good start for the first motorway section built in Harghita County. Earthworks and embankments, reinforcement works, ground improvement, as well as work on overpasses and ecoducts are being carried out simultaneously at the construction site.
The Joseni-Ditrău section is 14.4 kilometers long and will include 18 bridges, overpasses and viaducts, three ecoducts, an interchange at Joseni, and a temporary connection to Section 2A Ditrău-Grințieș, allowing the sector to operate independently.
The works are monitored online through cameras installed at the work sites, with the footage published on the CNIR website. In addition, the contractor and the supervisor will alternate each week in producing drone footage along the entire construction site. At the same time, documentation is being prepared to authorize works on Section 2A.
