Swimathon Bucharest, a community initiative from Bucharest, has managed to raise in 13 years no less than 1.8 million euros for hundreds of humanitarian projects, by organizing swimming competitions. This year's edition will take place on June 13-14 at the Otopeni Swimming Complex, marking the first participation in swimming of Alina Kasprovschi, the executive director of the Bucharest Community Foundation, after many years of organizing. Swimathon has had a significant impact not only on the beneficiaries but also on the participants, such as Alina's son, Toma, who overcame his fear of water and learned to swim. Additionally, Delia Grigoroiu, a clinical psychologist and president of the R.O.Z. Association, decided to learn to swim after being diagnosed with breast cancer, using her experience to support other women. Delia is raising funds for the R.O.Z. Couch project, dedicated to education about screening and prevention. The continuation of the story can be read in the 'Good Side' newsletter.
