The Mereu Aproape Foundation has completed the first stage of the project 'Every Heart Matters', mobilizing over 400,000 euros for equipping the new Cardiovascular Surgery Department at the 'Marie Curie' Hospital in Bucharest. This investment, made with the support of partners such as Kaufland Romania and EDPR Romania, includes essential equipment, such as two state-of-the-art echocardiographs, which will support the diagnosis and surgical interventions for children with congenital heart defects. The project addresses an urgent need, considering that annually between 1,200 and 1,500 children are born with such conditions.
The foundation is seeking new resources to transform the initial investment into a long-term project, necessary to ensure the complete functioning of the department. Doctors emphasize the importance of the new equipment in increasing the safety and precision of surgical interventions. The Mereu Aproape Foundation continues to mobilize funds to cover all necessary equipment, including infusion pumps and EKG machines, to ensure a high standard of pediatric care.
