A 76-year-old woman died after a car lost control and ended up on the sidewalk. The driver was injured and taken to hospital.

On Monday, July 7, a tragic accident took place on DN 18 in Vișeu de Jos, Maramureș, when a car lost control and hit a 76-year-old woman who was on the sidewalk. Following the impact, the woman was trapped under the wheels of the vehicle and unfortunately died on the spot. The driver suffered multiple injuries and was transported to hospital. Police have opened a criminal case and traffic was temporarily stopped to manage the situation. Investigations are continuing to establish the circumstances of the accident.
