Antonia's life, a 19-year-old girl, changed dramatically after an accident in Cișmigiu Park, where a rotten tree fell on her and her friend on August 10. The event occurred after the girls had hung their hammock from a tree and sat down to read.
Following the incident, Antonia is on a hospital bed, unable to feel her legs and with limited mobility in her hands.
Her mother stated that the injury suffered to the C5 vertebra is extremely serious, and the prospects for recovery are limited. Park workers and the City Hall claim that the girls are to blame, stating that the danger was visible and that trees are not meant for hanging hammocks. Antonia's family, worried about her condition, is considering taking legal action against the authorities, emphasizing that the area was not marked as prohibited for such activities. The family's lawyer, Aneli Ștefănescu, mentioned that an independent expert assessment could clarify the responsibilities in this case.
