Two large trees fell onto seven cars parked in Craiova following the rains. No one was injured, but the cars were damaged, and the owners are demanding explanations from the authorities.
Residents say the trees had posed a danger for some time and that one of them was leaning toward the street. They claim that only the smaller trees in the area had been trimmed, while the large, dried-out trees were left neglected.
Ion Poenaru, president of the homeowners’ association, says he submitted four reports concerning the condition of the trees. According to him, the association was informed that the trees would be trimmed or cut down on October 13, but the intervention never took place.
Locals say the collapse could have caused a tragedy if anyone had been inside the cars at the time of the incident. The owners of the damaged vehicles must now bear the consequences of the damage caused by the fallen trees.
